Police AMA

  • The term “Police AMA” is something of a misnomer. This is a situation created by internal BPD policies where the police have bought a person to the ED after certain situations (eg. domestic assault) even though the person does not wish to be seen and the officer has no medical concerns.

  • As of July 2020, BPD officers are no longer required to bring a person to the UED for evaluation if the person has no complaint and if there is no apparent injury.
