Ordering & Types

  • The restraint order must be placed within 1 hour of the restraints being placed. This cannot be a verbal order. The order will prompt a face-to-face evaluation form that must be completed as well.

  • Double-Strap Limbs are the type of restraints used in the ED.

  • Subsequently, select the type of placement (eg. ankle 2 point)

  • Manual Hold and Chemical Restraints need to be ordered additionally when applicable for violent patients.

  • Use the same restraint order to select all applicable restraint types by holding the “Ctrl” button and clicking the options.
